Working across Africa, Beyond Conservation is dedicated to training the next generation of conservation leaders. By integrating global expertise with local knowledge, we equip rangers, law enforcement, and communities with the skills to protect biodiversity, combat wildlife crime, and drive sustainable development. Through hands-on training, capacity building, and community development initiatives, we empower those on the front lines to lead the future of conservation—ensuring resilient ecosystems, thriving communities, and lasting impact.
OUR APPROACH
Our strategy revolves around the establishment of Centers of Excellence across Africa to train the next generation of conservation leaders while strengthening local capacity to combat wildlife crime and drive sustainable development. These centers serve as hubs for hands-on training, intelligence-led enforcement, and community-driven conservation, equipping rangers, law enforcement, and local stakeholders with the skills needed to protect biodiversity and manage natural resources effectively. Developed in partnership with governments, conservation organizations, and local Indigenous groups, the centers are embedded within local communities to ensure conservation efforts are both impactful and locally driven.
More than just training facilities, these centers actively engage surrounding communities by fostering leadership in natural resource management and developing alternative livelihoods linked to conservation. Through ecotourism, sustainable agriculture, and commercialization initiatives, Beyond Conservation creates economic opportunities that reduce reliance on wildlife crime while ensuring local communities benefit from conservation efforts.
